Frank Barker

Frank H. Barker is a retired corporate vice president and company group chairman of Johnson & Johnson, the world’s most diversified health care company. Mr. Barker began his Johnson & Johnson career in 1961. He advanced through several managerial positions to national sales manager before being named vice president and general manager of the Health Care Division of the Johnson & Johnson Domestic Operating Company, in 1974. In 1979, he was promoted to company group chairman with responsibility for Johnson & Johnson consumer, pharmaceutical and professional franchises in Asia, Southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In 1986, he became president of the newly formed Johnson & Johnson Health Management, Inc., was appointed corporate vice president of public affairs in 1987, and assumed responsibility for the Johnson & Johnson ophthalmic companies, Vistakon and Iolab, in 1989. Mr. Baker retired from Johnson & Johnson in 1996. He is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, which presented him with its Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1992. He is a member of the Rollins College Sports Hall of Fame, and the Jacksonville University Sports Hall of Fame. Mr. Barker and his wife, Daryl, are the parents of two children and grandparents of five.


Gayle Banks
Vice President of Community Affairs and Membership

Involving the community, increasing membership and developing programs to enable Fantasy Farms to grow and maintain its diversity of animals are the primary goals which attracted Gayle to join this committed team of wildlife enthusiasts. Gayle spent most of her career in education as an elementary teacher in Scarsdale, NY. For years her students were involved with endangered animal programs at the Bronx Zoo. Gayle envisions Fantasy Farms becoming a venue for educating students, young and old, to the care and preservation of our planet’s wildlife.


Cathy Dugan
Vice President of Administration/Finance

Cathy is known as Ms. Detail, for her hyper-organized approach to all events at Fantasy Farms. She is the main point of contact for clients and she prides herself on perfection and bringing out the best experience possible for every guest. She began her career as a flight attendant for American Airlines. Cathy was then one of the early Team Members at People Express, the airline that helped revolutionize the industry. She managed PE’s Reservations Center, responsible for over five hundred team members and college interns charged with providing a positive experience in the traveler’s initial contact with PE. Cathy also has extensive experience in retail management, as a closing manager for Talbots, a leading women’s clothing chain. More recently, her focus has been in philanthropy, as a past president of her local chapter of National Charity League in Redding, CT. She was also active in her national women’s group in Westfield, NJ. “I am excited to be a part of the team helping to showcase Fantasy Farms and to be able to share it’s charm with the community.”


Ramon I. Jimenez
Vice President of Operations

Ramon handles all day to day responsibilities at the Farm. From feeding the animals to putting a new roof over the patio. Ramon is an unstopable whirlwind of activity and on point for all things Fantasy Farms! Ramon I. Jimenez joined the U.S. Navy on October 09, 1979. After completing recruit training Ramon advanced quickly to ABH-1 (E6) and then to Chief Petty Officer. In 1990, after serving four years aboard the JFK, he received orders to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fl. where he was assigned to Patrol Squadron Thirty (VP-30) as the transit line Leading Chief and Maintenance Control Chief. From there he was assigned as the V-1 Leading Chief and then advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was then reassigned to the Air department as the Air department Leading Chief. In 1998, he received orders to Command Fleet Training Group Mayport, FL. where he served as the Assistant nt Operation Officer and Senior Aviation Advisor. In May 2001, He received orders to Naval Air Station Key West where he was assigned to the Operations Department as the Operations Leading Chief. He also served as the acting Command Master Chief. Senior Chief Jimenez Honorably Retired from the United States Navy with 25 years of active service. Ramon is Married to Sherry, they have two daughters, a son and grandparents of ten. Ramon brought his 25 years of leadership and excellence to the care and maintenance of the animals and property of Fantasy Farms. Under his leadership, Fantasy Farms has been transformed into a world class facility.

Carolee Ackerson Bertisch

Former English Facilitator and Writing Coordinator for the Rye Neck School District in Westchester County, New York, Carolee Ackerson Bertisch’s first book was Who Waves the Baton? Musings about Nature, Marshmallows and Mountain Ranges. A leader of two local book discussion groups, she also participates in A Gathering of Poets, a group that meets regularly at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch library to critique poems, and perform Poets’ Theaters for local arts organizations.

Chair of the St. Johns Country Library Advisory Board for five years, and appointed to the Florida State Library Advisory Board in 2012, she was honored in June, 2010, by being nominated for the EVE (Education, Volunteer, Employment) award for her leadership promoting the library budget in St. Johns County.

Former President of the Friends of the Library-Ponte Vedra Beach, Bertisch served on the Board of Directors of FOCUSCummer, which supports the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens in Jacksonville, FL, the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, the Board of Directors of Bird Island Park and was the Poetry Chair for The Florida Heritage Book Festival.

In September 2012, she published her second book, Walking To The Beat  Life: Mystery, Melody and Music - A Memoir in Poetry and Prose. On March 30, 2014, she was honored to be chosen by the St. Johns County Cultural Council to receive the ROWITA Award - Recognition Of Women In The Arts. Her third book, The Twelfth of Never  Poems was published in 2018.

In April, 2018, she joined the Board of Directors of Fantasy Farms Animal Preserve, a venue she has admired and loved since moving to Ponte Vedra Beach.
